2025
Environmental Policy & Environmental Objectives
At Albina Snack AB, we care deeply about the environment and its impact on future generations. That is why we also want to contribute to sustainable development in the environmental field. We have discovered that the more we invest in working with environmental awareness, the more we save.
1.
We currently use green electricity at the factory, as well as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). We are working to consume as little energy as possible and to reduce our energy costs.
– We must consume 4% less energy per ton of produced product compared to the previous year in the factory (both electricity and LPG). (Period 2023–2024)
2.
We use recyclable packaging solutions for our products. We must investigate packaging materials that do not contain SIN substances together with our suppliers and gradually implement them (long-term goal; Deadline 2025).
– Switch to mono-material packaging and easily recyclable packaging, or,
– Use more easily recyclable materials. Packaging for Risenta (paper packaging material) and Salling & Albina Snacks (combination of paper and plastic, reduced plastic).
3.
Purchasing of raw materials, products, materials, transportation, and services shall be made from reliable suppliers who also work with environmental initiatives in a sustainable way. We should always compare our suppliers where the environment plays an important role in the selection.
– We should increase the purchase of recycled and recyclable products and materials (70% of our purchases).
– Focus on suppliers that are sustainable, with sustainability throughout the supply chain. Relocation of most packaging material to local producers (Graphic Packaging), reducing CO2 emissions during transport.
4.
We strive to reduce the amount of waste and to sort as much waste as possible.
We will sort as much waste as possible within the company. This will be achieved by purchasing more types of waste containers from PreZero, enabling us to sort the waste more effectively; for example, sorting different types of plastics.
5.
The environmental risk assessment should be reviewed annually in order to better evaluate potential environmental risks related to the production facility. The environmental risk assessment should also be improved by including more data points for better analysis.
6.
We encourage the use of digital technology, i.e. the use of digital invoices, payslips, and the use of telephone and video conferences to reduce travel. All brochures and product sheets are distributed according to the POD principle, print-on-demand.
7.
We choose cleaning agents that are certified according to ISO 14001 or one of the well-established environmental labels.
– We should continuously investigate and evaluate alternatives for more environmentally friendly and effective chemicals*
Responsibility
We are responsible for ensuring that our employees are aware of this environmental policy and work in compliance with it. We are affiliated with FTI, the Packaging and Newspaper Collection system.
